Hometown (Miquel and Nuria, I own these to you :-P)

Some pictures of my hometown that I took in the last few years.

This is the village where I grow up. There's a river running through it, and rice fields can be found along both sides of the river.

We used to live in antique/ancient buildings. (Well, at least 100 years old.)

Inside the walls are a collection of wooden houses, connected to each other by corridors. Their front doors are usually like this.

I spend a lot of time watching them closely. The wooden carvings and bass relives that decorate the facades, doors, and windows.
Like this little phoenix surrounded by peony blossoms.

And windows made of blue-stones.

Next to my home it's a public place, sort of like an atrium. One of my favourite play grounds.

I like it a lot. You can always find interesting stuffs here.

Like this giant machine. Its function? A rice sheller :-)

That's all of it for now.
Oh, maybe something else, our dragon dance. Different from Hong Kong, here you can only watch it in the night, because our dragon takes the form of lanterns, which the local people make by themselves. Here is a picture of the head.
The body lanterns

And the tail, which marks the official ending of this post. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Last but not least,
Feliz CumpleaƱos, Miquel!!
